Who is the Crash Course for?

Are you scrambling to figure out how to become a true accomplice? To move past just posting on social media and donating money? 

Have you noticed all of the ways systemic oppression presents itself in the world (and in you), and feel helpless, confused, and maybe even a little bit guilty? 

Are you worried about being a “good whyte person” but know that you shouldn’t be leaning on your melanated friends to teach you?

Wouldn’t it feel good to know you’re reducing your potential for harm, creating inclusive environments at work and home, and becoming a true accomplice for marginalized people? 

The Crash Course is about more than just accompliceship.

We liberate others by way of our own liberation!

What we don’t talk about in this work is the healing element! This is not just about your commitment to others, it is about your commitment to yourself. It’s not just about liberating the marginalized, it’s about your own liberation and your own healing! It’s just about being an ally to others, it’s about showing up as the best version of yourself in this world. 

Let’s get honest…all the Twitter threads, whyte racism experts (really??), the unending podcast episodes you’ve downloaded, and your James Baldwin collection isn’t  gonna save you OR move you through a transformational liberatory process. Even following actual educators on social media isn’t enough. You need to dive in and study Whyteness (the social construct), how you’ve internalized it, the blindspots it’s created, the role you play in oppression and the role it plays in you, and most importantly: how to do better and have some real impact. You can’t just consume info, you need to do work. 

Why should I take it?

And now let’s get even MORE honest… this is NOT gonna be easy. This is going to take vulnerability and courage. You’re gonna have to look in your dark, dusty corners. (Don’t worry- I’ve got a flashlight and a swiffer duster) But the beauty is you won’t be doing this alone. And you shouldn’t try to do it alone! You’ll develop real, true, authentic, transformative community. You’ll learn from each other and lean on each other. You may even become chosen family. Results vary, you get out what you put in.
